3 Jun 2015

Can you help trace a suspected arsonist who set fire to a caravan parked on the driveway of a house in St John’s Road, Driffield?

A suspect was captured on CCTV running from the scene of the fire, which caused almost £2,000 of damage to the semi-detached house, the neighbouring property, a shed and Cross Hill school’s fence.

The incident took place between 11.55pm on Monday, May 25 and 00.01am on Tuesday, June 26, whilst the school was closed for halfterm.

Double glazing was cracked and guttering melted at both properties. Further damage to the value of £1,000 was also caused to the neighbouring shed and its contents.

CCTV shows a man walking up and down St John’s Road near the time of the incident. Later it captures a person running down the drive, away from the scene, crossing St John’s Road, into Adelphi Street and out of sight.

Officers are now working with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to investigate the incident.
Witnesses are asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 2115821.
