Cleethorpes: Independent witnesses sought

19 Dec 2016

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm following an assault in Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes.

We are now hoping to trace independent witnesses to the incident, which happened between 4.30am and 5am on Saturday, December 17.

The 26-year-old victim and the suspect had been involved in a verbal disagreement in the Lighthouse club earlier in the night.

As the victim walked along Grimsby Road, close to the Memorial Hall, he was attacked from behind and assaulted, suffering injuries to his arm and face. He remains in Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The 26-year-old suspect has been released on bail to a date in January, pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 2236441.
