Scunthorpe: Officers wish to speak to woman who intervened in altercation
6 Jul 2015
Police are keen to speak to a woman who intervened in a violent dispute between a couple in Scunthorpe’s High Street, at some point in the evening of Saturday July 4.
The couple had been on a night out, when an argument ensued and the man is said to have headbutted his partner.
At this point, an unknown woman intervened but it is claimed the man then spat on her.
After initially parting company, it is said the assault continued after the couple returned home, resulting in the woman suffering injuries to her neck.
A 38-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and criminal damage and bailed pending further enquiries to a date in August.
Anyone with information – particularly the woman who stepped in – is asked to call 101, quoting log number 77 of July 5.
