The Humberside Police areas of East Yorkshire, Hull and North/North East Lincolnshire are home to coast, countryside and city.
Hull will be the UK City of Culture for 2017 so will be a hive of activity. Even without this label there is a huge cultural scene in the city with music and arts festivals happening throughout the year. Across the region there are so many festivals ranging from food and rink to the arts and music. The music scene in Hull is the most varied you will find. The annual Humber Street Sesh brings together over 200 local bands and artists in the old Fruit Market.
Living in the Humberside Police force area will bring you a variety of benefits. A great standard of living with affordable housing in whatever environment suits you. Family life can be accommodated with small towns and villages across the region providing excellent schools, colleges and of course the University of Hull. If you are new to the area and are coming to the area alone there are plenty of vibrant and lively towns.
Hear what officers, who have made Humberside their home, have to say about their job and the area they live in:
No matter where you live in the force area you are never far from the sea, the resorts of Bridlington and Cleethorpes are the main resorts for attractions and traditional seaside fun. Cleethorpes’ Victorian Pier has recently undergone major renovations and was voted Pier of the Year 2016. If you want open sands and a quiet walk with the dog then any of the beaches of Barmston, Mappleton and Skipsea are easily accessible.
If you come with your family to the area then continued work considerations for your family are important aspects too.
Work has recently started on the Green Port Hull, Siemen’s £160 million investment in wind turbine production and installation facilities in Yorkshire. The combined investment from Siemens and ABP of £310 million will create up to 1,000 jobs directly but the wider effect of support industries in the region are creating career opportunities for experienced people moving into the area and to the young by way of apprenticeships and traineeships.
Like every region we have our challenges and areas of the most socially disadvantaged members of our society, with that comes challenges in policing. That’s why we need the help of experienced officers. We know that experiences you have gained in other forces will help us to make a real difference to our communities in Bridlington, Goole, Grimsby, Hull and Scunthorpe. We want to help you to help others, to work closely with our communities to reduce and prevent crime.
We want you to come to Humberside Police because you can make a real difference. Join us.
