Six men jailed for 83 years for bank robberies

Hull: The men were responsible for robberies in Merseyside, Cheshire and Humberside

A gang of armed robbers who targeted 23 banks and post offices across Merseyside, Cheshire and Humberside leaving staff and customers terrified have been jailed for a total of 83 years, four months at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday, 25 May 2016). 

The 23rd offence happened at Lloyds TSB in Newland Avenue, Hull on Tuesday 24 November.

Cars stolen following burglaries in East Yorkshire

Humberside: Keep keys out or sight and report suspicious behaviour

Police are reminding members of the public to keep car keys out of view to prevent two in one burglaries after a spate of incident sin East Yorkshire in 2016.

These are offences were burglars gain access to people’s homes, before stealing car keys which they use to then steal vehicles parked close by.

Locally this is broken down to;

North East Lincolnshire: 12 incidents per day

North Lincolnshire: 7 incidents per day

East Riding: 8 incidents per day

Hull: 17 incidents per day

Domestic Abuse: Speak Out, We Will Listen

Would it surprise you to know on average a victim will encounter 35 abusive incidents before they consider reporting it to the police?

Key Information

There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet your local officers and talk to them about problems you're worried about. You can pop along to Police Surgeries, which are informal drop-in sessions at well visited places in the community. It's a chance to meet your local officers, tell them about crime and antisocial behaviour in your area and get crime prevention advice.

You can also have a say in what your local police and other agencies focus on in your area at Priority Setting Meetings. Any member of the community can go along and talk to local officers and PCSO's, council workers and people from Fire and Rescue about issues you face. What you say at these meetings will help the policing teams decide how they should focus their resources in your area. If you think we're getting it right or wrong at the moment, come along and have your say.
