Arson attack on fishing compound

Easington: Were you in the area?

We are making a fresh appeal for information about a potential arson attack on a fishing compound on Seaside Road, Easington.

On the evening of Saturday 25 February a fire broke out in the compound between 7.30pm and 8.30pm causing around £200, 000 of damage.

We are particularly keen to hear from the occupants of a small hatchback car which was seen outside the compound.

An online treasure hunting game almost sparked a police incident after a man was spotted on CCTV fitting a Geocache device under a bench in Hull city centre.

And while we don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, today we’re appealing for other players to think about where and how they place their devices in future.

Hull: Man left with life threatening injuries

Do you know this man?

We are keen to speak to him as part of our investigation into a serious assault outside the Merchant Navy Club, Ferensway, Hull, at around 5.45pm on Monday, January 9, which left a 54-year-old man with potentially life threatening injuries.

He remains in Hull Royal Infirmary.

Woman arrested following bogus caller incidents

Hull: Any other victims are urged to call 101

We are appealing to trace further victims after vulnerable victims have been targeted by a bogus caller in Hull.

In at least two incidents a woman has approached homes of elderly and vulnerable people, before claiming to be a housing officers or carer to gain entry to their homes.  Once inside the offender has then tricked the victim to hand over money.

A woman was assaulted after going to the aid of a man who was being targeted by a group of youths in Hull.

The incident happened between 4.10pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, October 15, in Londesborough Street – and officers investigating are now keen to speak to the man, who could be a key witness.

Humberside: Lifestyle 2016 launched at Princes Quay on Saturday

Humberside Police’s Lifestyle project -which has inspired over 160,000 young people to make a difference in their community since 1989 - launched at Princes Quay on Saturday 7 May and teams are now being urged to register at www.humberside.police.uk/lifestyle.

Key Information

There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet your local officers and talk to them about problems you're worried about. You can pop along to Police Surgeries, which are informal drop-in sessions at well visited places in the community. It's a chance to meet your local officers, tell them about crime and antisocial behaviour in your area and get crime prevention advice.

You can also have a say in what your local police and other agencies focus on in your area at Priority Setting Meetings. Any member of the community can go along and talk to local officers and PCSO's, council workers and people from Fire and Rescue about issues you face. What you say at these meetings will help the policing teams decide how they should focus their resources in your area. If you think we're getting it right or wrong at the moment, come along and have your say.
