Dealing and use of controlled substances is an offence and charges can range from possession to production of controlled drugs.

A class system of A, B and C groupings are used to categorise illegal drugs in the UK, these are separated in relation to the risk they pose and the sentences that can be imposed correspond to their seriousness.
The table below shows the sentences that can be issued to those involved in the possession or supply of drugs.
