Working for Humberside Police
Police Officer
As a Police Officer in Humberside Police you will work closely with the community to reduce crime and the fear of crime. You will provide a highly visible presence, reducing nuisance and anti social behaviour, participating in partnerships and initiatives and adopting a long term and problem solving approach to all policing issues.
We are not currently recruiting for Police Officers. Please check this page from time to time for details of future recruitment.
Police Staff
At Humberside Police we have hundreds of widely varying roles for men and women of all ages, from every educational background and at all stages of their lives. We employ approximately 2000 police staff in areas including crime investigation, human resources, custody and crime analysis to name but a few, as well as many administrative and business support roles - all providing a key role in the provision of an outstanding policing service.
"Humberside Police is under-represented by black and minority ethnic employees. Therefore, applications are particularly encouraged from these groups, but selection will be made solely on merit."
The Extended Police Family
Special Constables
The Special Constabulary in its current format has recently celebrated it 175th anniversary and although the types of duties that officers have been involved in have changed over that period, the ethos of members of the public assisting their local constabulary with the policing of their local community has remained the same.
Police Community Support Officer
The public demand for visible, on-street patrols has never been greater and Humberside Police are constantly looking at ways of reducing crime and the fear of crime. Supported by funding from the Government, Humberside Police have now recruited over 300 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to work in support of the region’s Police Officers.
We are not currently recruiting for PCSOs. Please check this page from time to time for details of future recruitment.
Police Service Volunteers
The hall mark of a truly Citizen Focused Neighbourhood Policing Team – “Policing with the community not to the community” can now be brought to fruition with the closer involvement of Police Service Volunteers within our Extended Policing family.
Within our force this currently involves Regular Officers, Special Constables, Police Community Support Officers and Police Staff. But now Police Service Volunteers or put simply – Volunteers – have become the newest members.
We are not currently recruiting for Police Service Volunteers. Please check this page from time to time for details of future recruitment.
