Cycle Security Assessment
In Hull the Neighbourhood Policing Teams are assessing locked cycles whilst on their routine foot patrols.
They are assessing the way a cycle is locked and will record the details of the assessment by circling a letter on a self adhesive strip, which will be left on the cycle.
All cycles on a rack would be assessed and tagged so as not to draw attention to badly locked cycles.
Police hope the scheme will:
• Provide public confidence that cycle racks are being patrolled
• Help improve cycle security
• Encourage registration on www.Immobilise.com
• Provide details of the non-emergency police number 0845 60 60 222.
The Community Wardens are also involved in the assessments.

D - Not locked
B - Poor quality lock
H - Lock not used to best effect
F - Not locked to a permanent fixture
A - Good quality lock
G - Best use of lock to greatest effect.
I - All accessories removed
C - Secured to permanent fixture.
E - Recommend registering with www.Immobilise.com
