Four arrested after assault

Cleethorpes: Investigation continues into incident in Brereton Avenue

Three men remain in custody this morning on suspicion of assaulting a 21-year-old man, in Brereton Avenue, Cleethorpes, yesterday evening.

We were called at 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, February 22), following reports of a youth being assaulted in the area. It later emerged the injured man was in fact 21-years-old.

The first incident happened at Lloyds TSB, Durban Road, Grimsby, between 1.45am and 2am on Wednesday, September 28.

Man injured at bar

Cleethorpes: Did you see what happened?

Independent witnesses are being sought after a man suffered facial injuries after being ejected from a Cleethorpes bar.

The incident happened at around 1.25am on Sunday, September 4, at The Bobbin, High Street.

The 33-year-old was taken to Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital and later transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment. He has since been discharged.

The hand-built gents mountain bike, a selection of Nike golf clubs and associated equipment were stolen after thieves broke into a garage in Highgate, Cleethorpes.

The incident is said to have happened between 5pm on Wednesday, July 13 and 11.50am the following day.

Concern is growing for a missing Cleethorpes woman, who was last seen by her partner yesterday afternoon.

Officers leading the search for 31-year-old Donna Purvis – who is also known as Brita – are particularly concerned as she is pregnant – though may not obviously appear to be so.

Man suffered serious injuries

Grimsby: Did you witness attack on Town fan?

A 46-year-old man suffered multiple injuries in an unprovoked attack following Saturday’s Grimsby Town v Sheffield United match. (July 23)

The self-employed electrician – whose family has asked not to be named – had attended the match alone.

He was taking his regular route home along the sea front, from Fuller Street towards Suggitts Lane, when he was attacked.
