Humberside Police - protecting communities, targeting criminals

FEBRUARY UPDATE

The previous priorities for Driffield were anti social behaviour on George Street and on Bridge Lane, we have had one call for service on George Street a youth was assaulted during an argument with an adult, this was not connected with the previous anti social behaviour problem and a wall was damaged on Bridge Lane although it would appear that the wall was unstable due to frost damage, we will continue monitoring this area as there are still issues at school lunch time.

During the month of February we have had 3 dwelling burglaries reported, one on Scarborough Road where 3 males forced their way into a house, assaulted the occupant and stole a play station, one on Mill Street where again three males forced their way in, assaulted one of the occupants and stole a play station, wallet and cash, the third was on St Johns Road where a laptop computer and cash was stolen.  An attempt to gain entry to an unoccupied property on North Street was made via the rear of the house, the door was forced breaking the lock and splitting the door frame.  We have also had a spate of criminal damages to vehicles, overnight 10-11/2/11 two mirrors were broken off and a vehicle was scratched on Harper Street and Bracken Road, overnight 11-12/2/11 two vehicles on St Johns Road had a tyre punctured as did a vehicle on Duncombe Drive overnight 16-17/2/11 and St Margaret’s Close overnight 17-18/2/11.  About 12.50am on 22/2/11 a number of vehicles in the Woldholme Avenue/St Johns Road area were damaged by a group of youths leaving a party in the area, enquiries are ongoing to identify the offenders.  Overnight  24/25/2/11 a vehicle was damaged on Riverside, the windscreen was smashed and the full length of the passenger side was scratched.
