Following the tragic events that unfolded in Manchester on Monday and the UK threat level being increased to critical, we have applied for additional support under Operation Temperer for Radio 1's Big Weekend.

200 years after the abolition of slavery, modern slavery is becoming a global issue with cases being uncovered all over the UK including in Humberside. Modern slavery is about transporting, recruiting or harbouring people for the purpose of exploitation, using violence, threats or coercion. It is about vulnerability, sexual exploitation, human trafficking and enforced labour.
A 45 year-old Hull man who was walking down Drainbank between Holderness Road and Salthouse Road on 21 May, between 4.30 and 5.30pm, was approached by 3 men who assaulted him and stole his mobile phone.
The victim suffered minor facial injuries and bruising to his chest in the incident.
Beverley: Appeal for witnesses to help with our enquiries
A man sustained head injuries on a night out in the Market Place, Beverley around 3am on 30 April. The 31 year-old Beverley man had been in Kubana Bar near to the Market Cross when he has alleged to have been assaulted, resulting in the head injuries. The victim was wearing a blue jumper and navy quilted jacket.
