2010 Champions - The Three Amigos!

‘The Three Amigos’, Lewis, Josh and Riece decided they would like to give something back to those who gave so much for their country during the Second World War. They visited the Age Concern Day Centre in Grimsby, helping out and soon making friends.  On a mission to take their new friends on a nostalgic day trip to Eden Camp, funds were raised by the intrepid team as they completed a gruelling 15 mile sponsored walk (dressed in shocking pink tutus for maximum impact!). Preparations were put into place for the coach trip to become a reality and as a result the trip was an outstanding success and greatly appreciated.

The team also visited Royal Court Nursing Home, organising a tea party for the residents who looked forward to their frequent visits. In between all their varied activities ‘The Three Amigos’ also found time to clean gravestones at a local cemetery and with remaining funds, the team provided a free slap up meal for 72 pensioners, including a slideshow of their summer activities met by a rapturous applause, proving that this team have certainly bridged the generation gap.

Paul Lyons, Lifestyle Awards Supporter from Arco said, “The diversity of the projects and the commitment of the teams made judging extremely difficult. It was an extremely close contest between all four finalists. ‘The Three Amigos’ took the overall prize because they convincingly bridged a 90 year generation gap. They paid a huge tribute to those who gave up so much for country and community and they also gave support and confidence to people in need. The team had to be mature beyond their years throughout this project. A great effort, a great team and what great fun... they epitomise everything that is positive about Lifestyle.”
