The purpose of the Neighbourhood Network charity is to work together with community groups to reduce crime, develop a good community spirit and create a safer environment to live in where people are neighbourly and keep and watch out for each other.

Attending local meetings:-
Police Surgery. An opportunity for you to meet privately with a member of the neighbourhood team to discuss any policing issue of concern. This is a drop-in event so you may have to wait a few minutes.
Police and Communities Together Meeting. This is a public meeting where the police and other public authority representatives will be present. Its main purpose is to determine what the local priorities for action over the next three moths will be. It gives members of the public an opportunity to raise their concerns and influence those decisions.
Street Briefing. The whole neighbourhood team will be briefed on current problems in the area and tasked to deal with them. The public can meet with the officers and be informed about how they can help with these issues.

Key information: Southcoates West
The dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team is based at the Preston Road Police Station and forms part of the larger East and Park Team.
The area is covered by Neighbourhood Police Officer(s) and Police Community Support Officer(s) who are supported by dedicated Incident Response Staff and a number of Special Constables.
The Southcoates West Neighbourhood Policing Team covers the same area as the Southcoates West Council Ward.
The Neighbourhood is residential and covers local authority housing on Sweet Dews Grove, to private owned and rented accommodation off Newbridge Road up to private owned residential area off Southcoates Lane.
David Lister School is the only secondary school within the ward. There is also one primary school, the Estcourt Primary School. Also located on Rosmead Street is a Hull City Council temporary housing initiative known as Kingston Project, which is an emergency accommodating facility for 16-18 year olds.
The area has an all weather sports facility located on Rosmead Street which has an all-weather pitch for football as well as a large grassed area used to play various sports including rugby. Next to the sports facility is Rosmead playing field which includes a small play area.
There are six public houses on the area - The Mill, The Bank, The Crown, Highland Laddie, Ravenser Hotel and Reindeer; and one social club on Belmont Street – Belmont Social Club. There is also one snooker club – Tradewell Snooker Club on Southcoates Lane.
There are several retail premises on the neighbourhood, most are located along Holderness Road. Other smaller pockets of shops and takeaways are located on Newbridge Road and Southcoates Lane. Located on Southcoates Avenue is Probe Enterprising Youth and Probe Job Shop.
The Ward also has four churches, one been the recently renovated St.Johns Church on Rosmead Street.
