Police and Communities Together Meeting. This is a public meeting where the police and other public authority representatives will be present. Its main purpose is to determine what the local priorities for action over the next three moths will be. It gives members of the public an opportunity to raise their concerns and influence those decisions.

Rural crime – Metal theft

Metal theives targeted the stately home of Burton Agnes this month – two geese and 2 fountains were stolen. A full size figure statue was damaged as thieves tried to steal it breaking it off at the feet – it was left in the pond. The value of damage exceeds £4,000.
It is not only high value metal but metal items around the home such as garden impliments and furniture, tools left in vehicles – these are just as attractive if left available. Metal theft is on the increase and potential victims include domestic houses, empty properties, churches, businesses, highways metal work and infrastructure. The PCSO’s have recently organised surgeries targeted at crime prevention and tool/bike stamping and can continue to do so – this is free but needs to involve the Neighbourhood Watch and Parish Councils to assist.
Detecting Offenders can involve a variety of ways such as alarms, CCTV, UV marking – just simple neighbour awareness can be effective. If you see something suspicious please report it – ring 101

The Patrol Strategy for Your Neighbourhood Policing Team

Our strategy is that we use Police Community Support Officers, Regular and Special Constables to patrol set hot spots, such as the policing priorities given as well as those areas where crime and disorder occur. This can change rapidly and the details are taken from calls for service.
