Welcome to Kingsway and Lincoln Gardens
The dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team is based at the Ashby Police Station and forms part of the larger Scunthorpe South Team.
The area is covered by Neighbourhood Police Officer(s) and Police Community Support Officer(s) as shown below. They are supported by dedicated Incident Response Staff and a number of Special Constables.

Getting in touch with us
If you wish to raise any comments or concerns you can do so in a variety of ways such as:
• Attending local meetings:-
Police Surgery. An opportunity for you to meet privately with a member of the neighbourhood team to discuss any policing issue of concern. This is a drop-in event so you may have to wait a few minutes.
Police and Communities Together Meeting. This is a public meeting where the police and other public authority representatives will be present. Its main purpose is to determine what the local priorities for action over the next three moths will be. It gives members of the public an opportunity to raise their concerns and influence those decisions.
Street Briefing. The whole neighbourhood team will be briefed on current problems in the area and tasked to deal with them. The public can meet with the officers and be informed about how they can help with these issues.

Respect Seminars
Several female youths from the Kingsway & Lincoln Gardens Ward recently attended a ‘Respect Seminar’ in relation to offences they have committed. The seminars which involve time in the Police cells and an appearance at the Magistrates Court in company with their parents or guardians to explain their actions. The seminars are an alternative method of dealing with low level offences and focus on education and encourage young first time offenders to take responsibility, reflect on their actions and future behaviour. Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABC’s) are also signed by offenders with their parents. So far the seminars have proved very successful.

Parking and Road Traffic Offences
Parking around the local schools continues to be raised as an issue of local concern. The Kingsway & Lincoln Gardens Team continue to patrol these areas offer advice and issues tickets when applicable. As well as parking officers have recently issued nuisance motor bike riders with section 59 warnings. This gives police officers the power to seize motor vehicles being used in an anti social manner.

Public Order
3 local youths from the Kingsway & Lincoln Gardens Ward have recently been arrested and prosecuted for their part in an affray on the Ward. Local officers progressed the case as a public order incident even though no complaints of assault were forthcoming.

Criminal Damage
Four youths from the Kingsway and Lincoln Gardens Ward have recently been arrested and prosecuted for their involvement in a series of 6 separate incidents of criminal damage on Ashby High Street on the same night.

ASBO (Anti Social Behaviour Order).
An interim ASBO has recently been issued to a male living on the Kingsway & Lincoln Gardens Ward. This has been made possible by the community pulling together to provide Police and Safer Neighbourhoods with statements and evidence. Police are seeking a full ASBO on the male in the near future.

Laburnum Grove garages
During the summer local officers were made aware of problems of anti social behaviour around the garages of Laburnum Grove with youths climbing and jumping off the garage roofs into residents gardens. Following these complaints Police contacted North Lincolnshire Homes who own the garages who immediately arranged for the garages to be treated with anti vandal paint to stop youths climbing up.

Update
Robert Sherriff 18 years, has now been issued with a full ASBO for 3 years expiring midnight 21.07.2013.
The following conditions apply:
.Behaving in a way that is rude, insulting or threatening or which causes a serious nuisance to people in their homes (includingprivate gardens) or in a public place in North Lincolnshire.
2.Throwing or kicking any objects at any person or property within North Lincolnshire so as to cause any nuisance to any person.
3. Associating with more than two people in a public place in North Lincolnshire where that association does cause nuisance or disturbance.
4. Possessing or consuming alcohol in any public place in North Lincolnshire.
5. Entering,attempting to enter or remain in or on any private premises including garages sheds or gardens, including being on any boundary wall, fencing or planting surrounding such orivate premises within North Lincolnshire. Except by invitation or the express permission of the owner or lawful tenant.
6. Entering any school premises including school grounds within North Lincolnshire, except when attending at any school or college at which he is a registered pupil, or by invitation or appointment.
The ASBO will come into effect when Sherriff is released from prison following his conviction for breaching his interim ASBO

Cannabis Factory
Recently special constables arrested a male for being in possession of a quantity of cannabis bush. A subsequent search of his address revealed a cannabis factory. The male was charged and bailed to the magistrates court for the cultivation of a class B drug.(cannabis).

Parking issues continue to be monitored and the areas patrolled by officers.

Respect Patrol
The Respect patrol continues to patrol most evenings between the hours of 1800-2200 specifically targeting anti social behaviour and underage drinking in the community. All areas are patrolled with special attention given to locally identified as ‘hot spot areas.’ The unmarked police car is staffed by a constable and a PCSO.

Safer school partnership.
PCSO James Dixon is now establisghed in his role working with Melior Community College as part of the Safer Schools initiative.His role involves acting as a link between the school, police parents and pupils.He is also involved in citizenship lessons such as drugs education,and also assists with such issues as bullying.PCSO Dixon has recently been involved in student mediations and has attended a parents evening where he answered questions on Police related issues as well as offering crime prevention advice and drugs education to parents.
