Albert Marson Court (Probation service workers)

The Probation Service Workers operating in the area at the weekends were experiencing issues

    We did

The work the Probation Service is doing in the area at weekends is designed to tidy the area up and help retain a clean and tidy appearance. However, they had experienced one or two issues of items being thrown from the balcony at the working party – we have worked with the probation staff and increased patrols in the area. We have had no further recent reports and the team continue to liaise with the teams at weekends.

    Halloween / Bonfire Nights

This time of year can see additional anti social behaviour issues around these dates

    We did

We distributed Trick or Treat posters, spoke to schools about issues that can occur and gave guidance in relation to trick or treat. We had additional patrols out and about over the key dates. The calls for service were at an all time low for these dates and had patrols within Heslam Park and surrounding area for reassurancereassurance

Anti Social Behaviour during adverse weather

We are receiving complaints during this period of snow about young people throwing snow balls at passing vehicles, at houses and members of the public

    We did

This kind of action is dangerous, especially at passing motor vehicles which can have serious implications. We would ask parents to ensure their children are made fully aware of the consequences of such actions.
We have our teams out and about on foot patrol and addressing any issues that come to light – we would encourage people to ring in incidents on the police non emergency number 101

Calls for Service during the snow last week

We received 74 calls for service across North Lincolnshire last week during the snow that all related to snowball incidents

    We did

We increased the patrols in the areas we saw most complaints. This did impact on the service offered due to the volume of calls, but all incidents were addressed,. We saw an increase in the time it took to answer calls to the 101 number

    Burglaries - through insecurities

Did you know in the past few weeks 50% of burglaries in North Lincolnshire have been through insecurities where doors or windows have been left unlocked?

    We did

We would ask residents to be vigilant in ensuring that in secure doors and windows are locked. By this simple crime prevention advice we can see a reduction in the number of burglaries across the region. The number of burglaries are not high in North Lincolnshire, but each crime that is committed does have a massive impact on the victim and together we can reduce these incidents.
Humberside Police would ask residents to ensure their property is registered with www.Imobilise.com where you can enter all your property on a secure and free online service, we check this site for property we recover on a regular basis

If you wish to raise any comments or concerns with the team, you can do so in a variety of ways such as:

  • Police Surgery. Each team holds a monthly surgery in a public location within the Council Ward area. These can be found on the meetings & events page and we would welcome you attending the surgery. There will be an experienced member of the team present who will have a good knowledge of the area. Assistance will be given around your issue and which agencies that may also be able to help.
  • Visiting Ashby Police Station. The neighbourhood team for your ward area are based at Ashby Police Station and arrangements can be made to meet any member of the team at the station if booked in advance.

Ever thought about becoming a Special Constable for Humberside Police?

Humberside Police are currently looking to recruit Special Constables and this can be a very rewarding role within the service, if you are interested then please visit our page in relation to Special Constables by clicking here: http://www.humberside.police.uk/specials

Operation Lifestyle

Each year we see 100's of young people taking part in projects across the Humberside Police area and each year 1000's of hours of work and money is raised for great causes. This project is really one of the jewels in the crown of Humberside Police and sees many prizes being given out every November to winning teams. One team wins a week’s trip to Florida and is a truly amazing prize. The Neighbourhood Teams visit schools across the area from May each year to deliver the launch video and applications forms. The projects are carried out throughout the summer holidays and close in September of each year. We have seen success within this area with a team winning the top prize in previous years. In the last two years we have had a local team win the runner up prize of a week in France including Disneyland Paris.

If you would like more details of this project, please visit the Operation Lifestyle Website here: http://www.humberside.police.uk/lifestyle

Police and Crime Commissioner

November 2012 saw a major change to the way Policing is managed across the Country and saw the first election for a Police and Crime Commissioner for each of the Police forces. Humberside Police saw Matthew Grove appointed as its first commissioner and further details of this appointment and the website for the Police and Crime Commissioner can be found here: http://www.humberside-pcc.gov.uk/Home.aspx

Dissatisfaction

The policing team strive to offer a quality service, if you feel we have fallen short of this, you can contact our Professional Standards Branch. They can be contacted in a variety of ways details of these can be found by clicking here
