Welcome to Bottesford
The dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team is based at the Ashby Police Station and forms part of the larger Scunthorpe South Team.
The area is covered by Neighbourhood Police Officer(s) and Police Community Support Officer(s) as shown below. They are supported by dedicated Incident Response Staff and a number of Special Constables.

Getting in touch with us
If you wish to raise any comments or concerns you can do so in a variety of ways such as:
• Attending local meetings:-
Police Surgery. An opportunity for you to meet privately with a member of the neighbourhood team to discuss any policing issue of concern. This is a drop-in event so you may have to wait a few minutes.
Police and Communities Together Meeting. This is a public meeting where the police and other public authority representatives will be present. Its main purpose is to determine what the local priorities for action over the next three moths will be. It gives members of the public an opportunity to raise their concerns and influence those decisions.
Street Briefing. The whole neighbourhood team will be briefed on current problems in the area and tasked to deal with them. The public can meet with the officers and be informed about how they can help with these issues.

Priority 1: Holme Hall Avenue – Youths and Vehicle Nuisance
There was an increase in calls in relation to large groups of youths gathering outside the local shops, causing disturbance to residents and intimidating customers. Also, groups of youths using the car park at the side/rear of the shops reported to be driving dangerously and the excessive/unnecessary revving of engines.
The following action was taken:
Neighbourhood Watch Group set up for the area.
Increase in patrols during the evening and youths spoken to/moved on.
Registration numbers/names of youths in the area taken and letters devised/sent to the parents advising of the incidents of anti social behaviour.
Working with Casualty Reduction Officer to hold an Educational Seminar for new/young drivers and the youths whose vehicles we recorded will be invited to attend this.

Priority 2: Valley View Park and Bulls Field
Residents reported youths on mopeds and in cars causing a nuisance in the areas. Nuisance included loud music, excessive revving and dangerous driving around and in/out of the Valley View car park.
The following action was taken:
Increase in patrols during the evening and youths spoken to/moved on
Details of vehicles and youths in the area taken and letters devised/sent to the parents advising of the issues in the area with anti scoial behaviour.
Working with the Casualty Reduction Officer to hold an Educational Seminar for new/young drivers and the youths whose vehicle details we recorded will be invited to attend this.
Recorded on Neighbourhood Briefing as a Respect Patrol hot spot area.
Working with the local council to look at putting barriers up at the Valley View car park entrance.

Priority 3: South Park Industrial Estate – reducing crime in commercial properties
The following action has been taken:
Contact details obtained for all businesses and information sharing process set up between the police and local businesses.
Increased foot patrols on the estate by Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Smartwater signs being obtained as a crime deterrent.

Respect Patrol
This is a dedicated evening patrol dealing with nuisance/ incidents involving young people and alcohol related incidents. The Patrol is staffed by Neighbourhood Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers who have an understanding of the local areas and issues within the community.
The Patrol operates between 1730hrs – 2200/2300 hrs Wednesday – Sunday.
