It is asked that anyone with information in respect of either of these matters to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency telephone number 101 or contact crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Snake

You said there was a snake in the area of Fox Street.

    We did

PCSO’s Michael Gains and Lisa Howie responded to a report that there was a snake in the area. After diligently searching the area the officers located a snake which they managed to capture.
The snake was later handed over to the RSPCA who said that the snake was venemous but did not identify what type of snake it was.
There is only one native venemous snake in England and that is the adder. The adder is dangerous to small children and animals. The snake would make a healthy adult ill requiring hospital treatment.
The public are advised to leave any snake alone, Snakes will only attack if cornered or feel threatened.
The proper authority for dealing with snakes are the RSPCA who have the correct equipment.
PCSO Gains and Howie are to be congratulated on their handling of this incident which could have have nasty consequences.
