    HGV's in South Killingholme

The last Neighbourhood Action Team meeting (NAT) was held on Thursday 21st February 2013. It was unanimously decided by the members that after fourteen months of no priorities that a new priority be set for the area. The members of the NAT believe that the village of South Killingholme should be set as a priority area. Concerns have been raised that the large number of heavy goods vehicles in the area are causing a problem for the residents. Vehicles are parking up in the lay-bys on Humber Road as well as along Eastfield Road. They are failing to display lights, and the drivers are disposing of large amounts of rubbish onto the nearby grass verges and ditches, leaving the area in a undesirable state.A meeting and walk around was held at the location compromising of local authority, parish councillors, the local policing team and road policing from Humberside police. Numerous actions were put in place.

A further meeting was held at the location on the 30th April, with the above points in place, continuing to be enforced and taking effect a noticeable change is apparent. Further efforts continue.

The team still continue to patrol the area, monitoring the situation, and speaking to any drivers seen parking causing an obstruction or disposing of litter. Any offences are dealt with appropriately.
