Priorities / action taken
Mini Motor nuisance
The Neighbourhood team were made aware by local residents that around the area of Caistor Road and Dam Road mini motors and off road bikes were causing problems
The issue was discussed at the Neighbourhood Action Team meeting in October 2011 and it was agreed that this would be made a priority for the Neighbourhood team.
The action agreed was to increase the number of foot and car patrols in the area to both apprehend and deter the use of these mini motors and until recently the issue had not been causing any problems.
The team are asking for assistance from the local community.
If you know who is riding the bikes or if you witness them please call the team on 101. Your call will be taken in confidence.
If the bikes are causing excess noise and are stopped by police they will be issued with a fixed penalty notice for that offence and any other offences disclosed will also be dealt with.
Calls for service relating to this issue have reduced significantly. However, the team will continue to default to the area
HUMBERSIDE POLICE & What you need to know about 101
101 now offers the public across England and Wales one easy way to contact their local police force to report non-emergency crimes and disorder or to speak to their local police officers.
101 provides the public with a memorable number to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.
Nuisance Vehicles
Local officers have been made aware that the car park to the front of BaysGarth Leisure centre is being used by some young motorists as a meeting point, but due to their manner of driving when leaving the car park are causing a noise nuisance to residents.
The Neighbourhood team are working with both North Lincolnshire council and the leisure centre to seek a way to resolve the problem
The team are also increasing their time in the area and dealing with any offences. The drivers and occupants are been moved on and in certain circumstances been issued with a sect 59 warning or dealt with for no insurance under section 165.
Section 59 of The Police Reform Act 2002 permits the police to seize vehicles (after appropriate warning if suitable) that are used or have been used to cause alarm, distress or annoyance, or being driven in a careless and inconsiderate manner.
