This priority was raised by residents at the Clee Links Forum meeting. Concerns have been expressed by residents relating to incidents of anti social behaviour taking place on Sussex Recreation ground which include under age drinking, damage and noise nuisance. Details of any persons present are taken and passed onto partner agencies for letters and visits to parents are arranged.
Since this priority was identified, officers have conducted patrols on Sussex Rec each day, but mainly concentrating on Friday and Saturday evenings. At this time there has been no need to send any warning letters out or deal with any persons for criminal offences.

Areas of Anti Social behaviour
It is important that shift patterns reflect the needs of local people and demand to provide visibility and meet agreed priorities and problem solving. Neighbourhood Policing Teams where appropriate have developed a patrol strategy for their area agreed with the community so public contact is increased beyond patrol in vehicles, by attending meetings or key visits.
Our emphasis is on being accessible and visible to the public.
The local relationship and commitment to meet priorities through the local pledge will ensure that patrol times may be negotiated and agreed where appropriate.
In this area the following specific patrol times and areas have been agreed.
Sussex Recreation Ground is the main default area for Sidney Sussex officers. Particular attention is paid to this location on a Friday and Saturday evening whereby tasking has been set up to patrol the area due to ongoing problems with youths using the facilities.
Further areas are identified on a daily basis using incident reports to the police and local intelligence. Neighbourhood officers will continue to remain active and visible in the community.
