Phil Goatley, Assistant Chief Officer (Support)
Phil Goatley, a native of Gravesend, Kent, joined Humberside Police in April 1999. From 1985 to 1989, he worked for the former Humberside County Council and in 1989 become a chartered public finance accountant.
He then began a career with the District Audit, starting in Gloucester as an audit examiner, where he managed the audits of two district councils and dealt with the audits of a range of government clients and the Gloucestershire Police.
On promotion in 1990, he transferred to Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, and was consequently promoted to senior manager in 1993.
More recently Mr Goatley was the audit manager for Humberside Police, Fire and Probation Authorities, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and East Yorkshire NHS Hospitals Trust.
