Alan Leaver, Assistant Chief Constable (Operations Support)
Alan Leaver started his police career in 1985 with Warwickshire Constabulary. Prior to joining, Alan had been a teacher for 5 years in secondary schools in the county.
Alan worked in a variety of roles and posts, before leaving Warwickshire in 1997 on promotion to Superintendent with Humberside Police.
Working to begin with in the Corporate Development Dept, Alan then became Divisional Commander in 3 of the force's Divisions, the third of these being from 1999 until 2002.
Alan undertook the Strategic Command course in 2002 and became Assistant Chief Constable with Humberside Police, on a temporary basis for the first six months, in September 2003.
Alan enjoys running to keep fit, playing tennis and, to contribute to his stress levels, watching Burnley Football Club. The latter of course is a life sentence and has been maintained through the bad times and the not quite so bad times.
His ambitions are to win the men's singles title at Wimbledon and to see Burnley in the Premiership.
